Some of the biggest enemies to freedom and the Second Amendment in the entire country are coming after Iowa Gun Owners — and they won’t rest until they have shut us down for good.
No, this isn’t a joke.
Our nation is in incredible turmoil right now as Antifa thugs are rioting in our streets, burning down our businesses, and killing cops all over the country.
Here in Iowa we’ve seen violent looting, police cars being destroyed in broad daylight, an out of control mob that tried to burn our State Capitol to the ground — and extortion attempts by protesters demanding political changes while threatening violence.
ANYONE who stands up to this lawlessness is labeled a racist! ANYONE who stands up for law and order is attacked! ANYONE who stands up for peace officers is deemed a fascist!
But here at Iowa Gun Owners, we’ve never wavered in our support of the Second Amendment and for the values that have made this country — and our beautiful state — a shining light to the entire world.
And for standing up against these thugs, I have received over a dozen death threats as well as threats against my family that are too graphic to describe here.
Honestly, I’ve grown somewhat used to this after fighting for gun owners for the last twelve years in multiple states.
But now the Southern Poverty Law Center is gunning for Iowa Gun Owners, claiming that the work we do for gun owners is hateful, and they are doing everything they can to get the IRS to shut our doors forever!
Of course, the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) is a scandal-ridden cest pool who recently fired their founder as well as their board chairman for sexually harassing their own staff members, as well as stashing millions of dollars in an overseas bank account!
But that’s not stopping the SPLC from attacking Iowa Gun Owners, urging the IRS to yank our non-for profit status which would effectively shut us down, just weeks before the 2020 General Election season is set to go into high gear!
And that’s why I’m writing you today.
You see, everything is on the line here in Iowa this fall. While the presidential election is capturing most of the news, we can’t forget that the Iowa House is being directly targeted for a flip by Michael Bloomberg.
But we also need to remember the Congressional races that are underway as Congresswomen Cindy Axne and Abby Finkenauer are doing everything they can to hide from their record of backing every bit of Nancy Pelosi’s radical gun control during their first two years in Washington.
There’s so much that we must do to expose radical gun grabbers in these races; the very last thing we have time (or money) for right now is a trumped-up legal threat from the IRS at the behest of the Southern Poverty Law Center!
When I first started Iowa Gun Owners twelve years ago, I never would have dreamed that things like this would happen in America, much less in Iowa.
But if the last few years have taught us anything, it’s that the left will use bogus allegations, manufactured dossiers, and politically driven ‘special prosecutors’ in their attempt to try to destroy President Trump and anyone else who stands up for freedom.
So I guess we should not be that surprised that our political opponents are doing the exact same thing to Iowa Gun Owners!
Sadly, it doesn’t matter that Iowa Gun Owners plays by the rules. It doesn’t matter that we don’t break laws (or even bend them) like so many leftist organizations do.
The only reason that we’re being attacked by the SPLC is because we are proud to fight for the Second Amendment and we are ruthlessly effective at exposing radical socialists at election time — they simply must destroy us.
That’s why, as you’ll see, I’ve prepared a brief three-question Iowa Gun Owners’ Member Ballot for your review. Won’t you please fill it out IMMEDIATELY?
This is a member driven organization, it always has been, and that is why I’m counting on receiving your advice right away.
As it stands right now, I do not have the funds to expose the radical socialists who are trying to destroy our Second Amendment during the fall elections while also preparing for an expensive legal attack on Iowa Gun Owners at the same time.
In other words, IGO will be a sitting duck if a SPLC-initiated accusation turns into a full-fledged IRS investigation.
Sure, we’ve done nothing wrong. But that doesn’t matter, because even when we win these bogus fights, the cost in time and money are extremely expensive.
In 2017, embittered anti-gun State Representative Clel Baudler filed a 42-page bogus ethics charge against Iowa Gun Owners the day session adjourned for the year. We vigorously rebutted these charges and the bi-partisan House Ethics Committee voted 6-0 to dismiss these bogus charges.
But it came at the cost of thousands of dollars in legal fees and over a solid week of time that I had to spend in helping IGO’s legal team respond to the charges against us!
Sadly, I’m afraid this kind of nonsense just goes with the territory these days.
The gun-grabbers know that many people simply won’t fight back, as the costs add up and the media is allowed to drag your name through the mud — as they did in my case.
They know that if gun owners like you and me just give up, they will be free to take a sledgehammer to our most cherished freedoms without ever having to face angry voters here in Iowa!
I’ve never, ever believed that’s the way politics should work — not for a second. I still believe politicians work for us, not the other way around. That’s why I started Iowa Gun Owners in the first place.
Without organizations like Iowa Gun Owners out there to call politicians to the carpet for their records, I shudder to think how many MORE of our freedoms would have already been tossed by the wayside.
That’s why they want to shut us up so badly ahead of the 2020 General Election — so we can’t expose their radical gun control agenda!
Just a few of the races where Iowa Gun Owners needs to expose gun grabbers using our email program, targeted social media, and radio and internet ads include:
>>> Congressional District 1; Abbey Finkenauer was an embarrassment when she served in the Iowa House, but in Congress, she’s turned into a full blown socialist who backed every single gun control bill that Nancy Pelosi put on the floor for a vote!
>>> Congressional District 3; Cindy Axne said that she would be a ‘centrist’ Democrat and reject Nancy Pelosi’s agenda. But in her first two years in Congress, Axne backed a national gun owners registry (H.R. 8) and cosponsored a ban on AR-15’s (H.R. 1296) that would throw gun owners in prison for decades!
>>> Congressional District 4; this traditionally pro-gun seat is increasingly headed in the opposite direction. Randy Feenstra has surveyed 100% pro-gun with us and has cosponsored dozens of gun bills during his time in the Iowa Senate. J.D. Scholten is completely opposed to the Second Amendment and will vote to disarm all of us!
Of course, these are just the Congressional races where IGO needs to be active in exposing the records of anti-gun radicals, we haven’t even talked about the Iowa legislature!
That’s why our 2020 election program is so vitally important!
In fact, until just a few days ago, my hope was to run a massive program throughout October — using mail, email, digital ads, and even hard-hitting radio and TV ads if I could raise the money to pay for them.
But I’m afraid, as it stands right now, I won’t be able to afford to deal with a legal challenge to Iowa Gun Owners’ non-profit status AND still fund our election programs at the same time.
I know we’ve done nothing wrong. But neither did President Trump when he ran for office in 2016. That doesn’t matter. Today’s insane leftist want to DESTROY anyone who stands against their hate-American agenda and they’ll do anything to accomplish their goal. So we simply must prepare for the worst.
That’s why I need you to tell me what to do:
OPTION #1: Should I ignore the attack from the South Poverty Law Center, hope the IRS doesn’t try to close our doors forever, and go all-in with a full-scale program to expose anti-gun candidates this fall?
OPTION #2: Should I just give in to the pressure and cancel our election program, play it safe, and focus exclusively on getting ready to defend IGO from these spurious legal attacks?
OPTION #3: Or should I FIGHT BACK on all fronts and keep IGO’s legal and 2020 election program running at full blast?
I know what I want to do. But I don’t have millions of dollars sitting around in the bank like BILLIONAIRE Michael Bloomberg and his pals do.
Iowa Gun Owners has always run on a shoestring budget, and that’s especially true with so many Iowans recovering from the Covid-19 debacle.
OPTION #3 just really isn’t an “option” without a massive and IMMEDIATE influx of funds from Iowa Gun Owners’ members and supporters.
I know that’s asking a lot, but the stakes couldn’t be higher and doing nothing is just not an option.
I don’t know about you, but the idea that a scandal-ridden ultra-leftist organization can simply accuse Iowa Gun Owners of being an evil organization and expect us to shut down makes my blood boil!
They are the ones who hate freedom! They are the ones who hate our President! They are the ones who want to silence the voice of Second Amendment supporters everywhere!
And I’ll be damned if I’m going to stand by and do nothing while hordes of raging socialists in Washington and our own State Capitol (being backed up by violent Antifa thugs who are burning their way across this country) try to strip us of our precious Second Amendment freedoms!
So if $100 is just too much, won’t you please agree to $75, $50 or at least $25 right away?
The election season will be in full swing shortly, and the attacks on our gun rights are only going to heat up, so I need to hear from you right away.
