Tomorrow morning almost 1,000 gun owners will be converging on rural Mt. Auburn to attend the 2018 Iowa Gun Owners membership rally!
This will be the premier gun rights event of the year and I hope that you — and your family — are planning to attend.
Remember, the event will kick off at 10:00am and will be over around mid afternoon so you will want to arrive early in the morning.

Some of what you can look forward to includes:
>>> A keynote speech from Gun Owners of America’s Erich Pratt on the fight for gun rights at the federal level.
>>> Updates from myself on the fight for Constitutional Carry, and IGO’s plans to expose gun grabbers in the fall elections.
>>> The special opportunity to test-fire full auto machine guns, choosing from over 75 unique guns ranging from full auto handguns to the belt fed M249 under the eye of Jerry Lovik with Jerry’s Machine Guns.
>>> A small arms range for newer or beginning shooters, with guns and limited free ammo provided, which will be run by Steve Smith and his crew at Double Action Defense!
>>> The chance to pick up IGO’s brand new T-Shirt and join or renew your membership in Iowa Gun Owners at a special rate.
>>> Time to spend with other gun owners from all over the state. This occasion to visit with other Iowans who care about the Second Amendment just like you do is often one of the highlights of the day.
The forecasted temperature has cooled a little, and, even if it is warm we have rented a huge outdoor tent that can hold hundreds of people to give you a chance to relax for a while with the kids or just between speakers.
We are going to have a food vendor on site, so you are more than welcome to buy lunch there, but you are also free to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks along.
If you are concerned about taking your kids, don’t be, as we will have games available for them throughout the day.
Some things to bring with you that might make the day more enjoyable include:
- Your favorite camping/outdoor chair
- Sunscreen
- Food and non-alcoholic drinks
- Eye and ear protection for the ranges
- Cash for the machine gun shoot which is a separate entity from our rally. Please bring cash, as they do not accept debit/credit cards.
Most of all, I hope you will be able to bring along a friend or kids/grandkids who may not already be involved in shooting sports or the fight to defend the Second Amendment!
The media and many schools here in Iowa are doing everything they can to demonize gun owners and they are spinning a completely false narrative of what it means to be a gun owner.
The best way to counter those lies and spin is by letting your friends or loved ones spend a day with a thousand other gun owners and get some range time!
