Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is preparing to spend MILLIONS to ram gun control into law here in Iowa.
Days ago, insider sources in Des Moines told me a brand-new anti-gun group — backed with up to two million dollars of Bloomberg’s cash — was being formed to browbeat the Iowa General Assembly into passing gun control in 2014!
As I write you, Bloomberg cronies are busy scouring Des Moines shopping for slick, high-priced contract lobbyists to assist them in twisting arms and muscling their Gun Registration Bill into law.
Friend, this is an all-out EMERGENCY.
So please, take just a few minutes to sign the NO GUN CONTROL MANDATES to your state Representative and Senator that I’ll link you to in a moment.
You see, just days ago, I read this quote from Mark Glaze, the Executive Director for BILLIONAIRE anti-gun activist Michael Bloomberg’s Mayors Against Guns (MAIG):
“In 2012, the mayor [Michael Bloomberg] spent about $10 million or so dipping his toe in the water. I guess we’ll find out what the whole foot looks like in 2014.”
The article goes on to talk about how Michael Bloomberg is preparing to spend $25 MILLION targeting a dozen states!
It doesn’t take a rocket-scientist to figure out more than two million dollars of that could be earmarked for us!
That kind of cash is enough to make the knees of even the most pro-gun Republican in Des Moines go wobbly.
And after the drubbing anti-gun activists took in the U.S. Congress last year at the hands of Second Amendment supporters, it’s been widely known that the gun-grabbers were plotting a change in strategy.
Instead of focusing on federal-level anti-gun assaults, gun-grabbers like Michael Bloomberg are going to try their hand at RAMMING gun control into law at the state level.
Based on legislation the gun-grabbers have backed at both the federal level and in other states, it’s not hard to figure out where they’ll start . . .
That’s GUN REGISTRATION under the guise of so-called “universal background checks.”
Under legislation introduced last year, “background check” registrations would be required for even temporary transfers!
That means you’d need a government permission slip just to loan a buddy a shotgun for a day of hunting!
In fact, just letting your friend fire a couple shots at the gun range with your new handgun could result in a $6,000 fine and a two-year jail term if you fail to register that temporary transfer with the government.
Under this bill, that punishment is an “aggravated misdemeanor” according to Iowa law. But it’s a FELONY as far as the Feds are concerned!
And don’t be fooled by the gun-grabbers’ LIES. These “background checks” are gun registrations, plain and simple.
As a former cop, I can tell you the ONLY way to enforce such a “universal background check” scheme is to keep track of every firearm and every firearm owner.
So these “background checks” will end up with full-scale GUN REGISTRATION.
And as every gun owner knows, gun registration is the first step toward outright CONFISCATION.
At this early stage in the fight, I can’t be sure this is the anti-gun scheme the gun-grabbers will push. But it’s my best guess.
That’s why I hope you’ll take a moment to sign your NO GUN CONTROL MANDATE petition IMMEDIATELY!
You see, whether it was the federal fight we witnessed in the U.S. Senate last year, or the fight over the U.N.’s so-called “Small Arms Treaty,” GUN REGISTRATION is always at the top of their list.
Needless to say, I don’t have two million dollars sitting in the bank. I can’t stand toe-to-toe with Mayor Bloomberg’s millions.
But that doesn’t mean we can’t win.
Today, thanks to the action and support of good folks like you, Iowa Gun Owners is the most feared political organization in our state.
Out-of-state groups — even those flush with cash — just won’t have the pull we do right out of the box.
But without your support, I truly shudder to think about what you and I could be facing.
We simply have to turn up the heat on the Iowa General Assembly like never before. I mean it. Like NEVER before.
My goal is to flood our Iowa General Assembly with up to 100,000 of these just as the legislative session starts to heat up in the end of January.
But that alone won’t win this fight.
You and I are going to have to dig deep and pay for hard-hitting Internet, radio, newspaper and perhaps even TV ads.
Those can get pricey. Very pricey.
As I mentioned, Iowa Gun Owners can’t stand toe-to-toe with the gun-grabbers. We don’t have Bloomberg’s cash.
But we have something more important. We have the numbers. But even our numbers don’t mean anything unless you and I mobilize.
You and I MUST mobilize tens of thousands of people across Iowa to send a LOUD-AND-CLEAR message to the politicians:
“VOTE AGAINST OUR GUN RIGHTS AND LOSE YOUR JOB.”
Of course, it is going to take money to mobilize . . .
I know that’s a lot. But I’m asking every Second Amendment supporter to dig deep.
If it’s just too much right now, please just chip in whatever you can right away.
Since Iowa Gun Owners’ formation, we’ve beaten back EVERY scheme the gun-grabbers have thrown at us. But this will be our toughest test yet.
The only way you and I will win is if every Second Amendment supporter does his and her part.
