Often times you hear from us about the anti-gunners in the Iowa legislature who are working around the clock to fundamentally alter our Second Amendment rights by passing gun control.
You’ve rallied with us and we stopped former Rep. Dan Muhlbauer’s call for a house-to-house confiscation of all semi-automatic firearms.
Together, we ensured that Bloomberg’s push for a Universal Background Check bill (aka Statewide Gun Registry) died on the vine.
When Representative Ako Abdul Samad and others sponsored legislation to ban the transfer of magazines over ten rounds, you sent a loud message to Des Moines and this bill died.
And while we’re engaged in a program to expose vulnerable anti-gun legislators here in Iowa this fall, it’s equally important that we fight to make sure that pro-gun legislators at the Capitol don’t go unnoticed.
That’s especially true when they’re being attacked by candidates who are hiding their views on the Second Amendment!
That’s why I hope you’ll join me NEXT SATURDAY as we go house-to-house in Senate District 10 (Dallas, Guthrie, and Adair County) to pass out flyers making sure every gun owner knows about the pro-gun record of Senator Jake Chapman!
Senator Chapman has already shown himself to be willing to stand up for the Second Amendment during his first four years in office by being a leading co-sponsor for Stand-Your-Ground legislation.
More than that, Chapman has signed his 2016 Gun Rights Questionnaire 100% pro-gun!
This means that Chapman has pledged to not only vote pro-gun, but to lead in the gun rights movement by:
>>> Sponsoring Stand-Your-Ground legislation.
This legislation simply removes the duty to retreat from a violent criminal when being attacking in a public place before taking defensive action.
>>> Sponsoring Constitutional Carry legislation, which makes the permit to carry optional as it is in ten other states.
This means that you don’t have to add your name to a government database or pay expensive fees just to have the right to defend your family.
>>> Promising to oppose the Michael Bloomberg/Steve Sodders plan to institute a statewide firearms registry under the guise of “Universal Background Checks.
This legislation would make you a felon for handing down family heirloom firearms to your children or grandchildren without first obtaining government permission.
>>> Promising to oppose the state level ‘assault weapons ban’ that Senator Matt McCoy has pledged to introduce in the 2017 legislation session.
These bans impact hundreds of modern firearms and do virtually nothing to stop criminals in the first place!
Sadly, while Jake Chapman has pledged to fight for the Second Amendment, his opponent Matt Paladino has flat-out REFUSED to answer his 2016 Gun Rights questionnaire.
Most often, when candidates won’t pledge 100% support for our Second Amendment freedoms, it means they’re planning to march in lockstep with the gun-grabbers once they get to Des Moines on a host of gun control initiatives.
I’ve experienced this dozens of times over the last couple of elections.
And with Paladino’s allies in the Senate already vowing to launch an all-out war to advance a ban on hundreds of types of modern firearms during the 2017 legislative session under the guise of a so-called ‘assault weapons ban,’– his silence on this issue is deafening!
That’s why I hope you’ll join me and other Iowa Gun Owners volunteers as we go house-to-house in Senate District 10 next weekend, making sure that everyone knows where these two candidates stand.
And as a way of saying thank you to everyone who helps us fight for the Second Amendment, Iowa Gun Owners will be giving away a Ruger 10/22 to one lucky volunteer!
Here are the details:
Meeting location: Casey’s General Store, 342 Nile Kinnick Dr S., in Adel. We’ll be meeting in the parking lot between the Casey’s and Subway.
Meeting time: 8:30am (we’ll give you a thorough overview of the game plan, divide into teams, give you your assigned map and flyers, and be pounding the pavement by 9am.)
Duration: We’ll be passing out flyers from 9am-1pm.
Afterwards: We’ll meet up again at the Patrick’s Restaurant located at 211 S 7th St C, in Adel at 1:30pm and select the winner of the Ruger 10/22 rifle after a brief lunch. (Dutch treat.)
What You’ll Need: Supportive footwear, a jacket, and a bottle of water (or coffee for those of us that can’t survive without it.)
Please don’t brush this aside, taking this district for granted.
I’m afraid that Matt Paladino is hoping that he can get away with hiding his views on the Second Amendment.
It seems like he’s hoping that the attention will be directed to the ongoing Presidential election, allowing him to get away scot free!
And with gun-grabbers having a 26-24 lock on the State Senate, we can’t take anything for granted.
That’s why I hope you’ll join me next Saturday!
Don’t forget, we’re giving away a FREE Ruger 10/22 to one volunteer as our way of saying thank you.
(Winner’s name to be drawn on site, rifle to be claimed at a gun shop pursuant to all local and federal state laws.)
We are running a full scale operation this fall, targeting vulnerable races all over Iowa.
We’re deploying mail, targeted social media, email alerts, and more to make sure that gun owners know where their candidates stand.
We have to — otherwise our children and grandchildren won’t inherit the same freedoms that you and I enjoy.
Our forefathers fought to give us these rights, it’s up to us to maintain them and pass them down to our heirs.
Some of you can and have donated $500 or even $1000 to fund our direct mail programs in targeted districts. Others have been able to fund a radio ad for $37.70.
Whether you can donate or not, please come out this Saturday and help out.
For two long years you’ve been waiting for a chance to get directly involved in the fight to defend our gun rights here in Iowa, watching as pro-gun bill after pro-gun bill was blocked in the Senate.
That opportunity starts next Saturday in Central Iowa.
I hope to see you there!
For Freedom,
Aaron Dorr
Executive Director
P.S. Iowa Senator Jake Chapman has answered his 2016 Gun Rights Questionnaire 100% pro-gun, meaning he’ll continue to support pro-gun legislation if sent back to the State Senate next year.
Unfortunately, his opponent, Matt Paladino, has flat-out REFUSED to tell gun owners where he stands.
I’m afraid that Paladino is hoping he can just not declare himself either way, and join his colleagues in Des Moines in support of their radical gun control agenda.
That’s why I hope you’ll join me NEXT SATURDAY in Senate District 10 (Dallas, Guthrie, and Adair County) as we go house-to-house passing out information about where these two candidates stand.
All the information is listed above.
Don’t forget –- one lucky Iowan will win a Ruger 10/22 absolutely FREE from Iowa Gun Owners as our way of saying “Thank You” for standing with us in defense of the 2nd Amendment!
I hope to see you next Saturday!
